Information and Visualization Services (IVS) was created under the Heindel & Noyes
family of companies in 1995 as mapping was fast becoming a requirement for more of the
projects that Heindel and Noyes was working on. At the same time, GIS was truly evolving
into a mainstream technology. IVS was founded in order to work as it's own entity as a
true GIS and mapping firm on it's own, but also in support of all the mapping work for
Heindel and Noyes.
IVS has developed a statewide database that was originally designed for
Property Screening Services (PSSes). This statewide database
contains all the current data supplied by the Vermont Ceter for Geographic Information (VCGI).
All of the historic orthophotos have been scanned and georeferenced to use in conjunction
with the existing digital orthophotos for base information in map creation. All of the
hazardous waste sites (3000 +/-), underground storage tanks, and pollution source
inventories are also in our system.
Our mission has expanded beyond PSSes to include multiple Geographic Information System (GIS)
applications, including banking and demographics, municipal and utility applications, civil
and environmental engineering, ski area management, and document tracking.
IVS also has proprietary digital data such as surficial and bedrock geology and digital Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) data available for the entire State of Vermont in support of
our flood determination services.
Our clients include multiple banks, ski areas, hospitals, realtors, cities and towns, state
agencies, private engineering firms, non-profit agencies, and many more...
